Compared to the rest of the Middle East/Central Asia? Absolutely lmao.
Of course, we do. 🙂 Compared to them, that is to say.
But our research is being held back heavily due to the state of our educational institutions and even the market factors. Great minds being restricted by decision makers up top with short vision, at the government, education and society level. Many that break through do so often on their own.
I've dug deep into our high education setup, and it's painful stuff. 😟 So much potential and promise squandered away, by people who can't see beyond their nose.
We need a shakeup form top to bottom to truly get back on track, and drive towards our potential. Sadly, that is something that is so far off now, the change that is required. Has to start at the bottom and go all the way up. What's sad is that many other countries are taking giant leaps.
This is a good step, but just like our economic, judicial and civil sectors, a paradigm shift is needed.
Why don't they give it to their own students
