Noone in the party called for an expulsion of Atif Mian/Ahmedis.The only thing that came out along those lines was of Ms. Shehla Raza. She clarified that it was someone on her team who tweeted that, who has since been fired. She also, in very clear words, apologized for that tweet even though it wasn't hers.
PPP stands every right of calling itself a party of the minorities because its track record shows that. They are the only ones who sent minorities on general seats, and sent them into the Senate too. Just today they appointed the first-ever Christian Advocate-General. I get the hatred for the party stands in the upper-middle classes, and yes there are many corrupt elements in the party too, but please don't take credit away from them for things they do right.
Also, a government is appreciated when it stands by a tough decision it takes, not when they choose to go back on it a week later.
Pakistanis don't have problem against Hindu or Christian appointments. Pakistanis have problem against Ahmadis because they "challenge Islam". Fawad Chawdary as representative of govt repeatedly supported Atif Mian while pressure was coming from general public itself. PPP should have given one statement or Bilawal should have given one.
Statement saying what exactly?
Because they did. They did say through multiple party reps that appointments should have nothing to do with the religion of a person. Ailaan-e-jang chahiye thaa? PPP ke kandhoun pe rakh ke bandook chalaani hai aap ne tou bataa dein. Khud tou cause keliye kharray hou na paaye.
For once give one fúçkîñg statement in support of Govt in that fiasco. Bandooq PTI ke kandhe pe hai. Aap bas support karte.
