We did, but they petered out after a bit. Hilariously, I edited a video last night for our launch party that has a bunch of progression videos - if you subscribe to the Ultimerse YouTube I should have it uploaded in the next week or so.
It works for any mesh, but gets super expensive the more verts you add. It’s kind of half asset and half personalised script. The essential idea is that you get the verts, calculate the edges, find the intersection point of the collider and edges and create new verts there. Then using those new sets of verts you separate it along with the new gap you made and then just bridge the hole.
...that’s what our lead dev told me anyway. My phone autocorrected verts to beers so like, #producerthings I guess.
Neat, thanks for the info. Slowly starting to look into VR dev myself.
No problem! It’s definitely a bit of a wild Wild West but it’s growing in leaps and bounds. Our lead dev is probably going to do an interview at PAX discussing the work and processes and for future titles we’ll be doing video devlogs :)
