What is it about that hero rock (which looks a bit like a turd) that’s interesting? I like the overall look though, just would like a prettier more interesting hero to be in focus. Also get rid of the largish rock out of focus in the middle of the foreground it’s too distracting.
Haha it does look like a turd. I guess I was thinking the flow of water looked cool so that’s what I was trying I capture. But I do see what you mean about picking a more interesting point to be in focus. Thanks for your feedback!
This is a cool shot. For me, it could be better if you choose one spot to blur and one spot to keep sharp and in focus. I'd like to see the foreground clear and sharp, and then everything else out of focus as you have it from the waterline up to the sky. Love the colors!
Thanks! I see what you mean about the foreground being in better focus, that would look a lot better.
people don't tend to first look at a point deep into an image. You need to pick a point of focus closer to the foreground. It leads the eye into the framemuch more easily, especially in such a cluttered composition.. a stronger point of focus becomes more important, before they eye wanders deeper into the image.
I would have likely picked the pink rock or the interesting twisted one to its left, or alternatively have shot from a slightly higher angle so they were not so distracting..
Try focus stacking. Not difficult and might improve this photo.
