The Anime Mechgodzilla would have been nicknamed " Nano-MechaGodzilla"
It shoukd have just been NanoGodzilla, or MetalGodzilla, instead of putting Mecha in it. Is it even a mech? Do people pilot it? Pretty sure it's AI.
Even if it didn't have a Mecha body anymore it was still the same AI. of Mechagodzilla.
A mecha is a type of robot piloted from inside. Not an AI controlled device.
If we wanna get technical the first Mechagodzilla wasn't piloted from within, it was controlled by an AI that could be issued verbal commands.
Guys you’re forgetting something it’s different so that automatically makes it the best thing ever! Wow!
Sometimes it feels like that's the intent.
I know but that was just its name, at that time was clearly meant to match its function... the fact it isn't a Mecha anymore shouldn't affect its name.
I mean Shin Godzilla is Shin Godzilla indipendently by which form it takes (then of course we give some nicknames to the various forms).
Yes, because Shin Godzilla is still a form of Godzilla, even in its sea creature phase. MechaGodzilla wasn't a Mecha so it shouldn't have been called that.
The name was meant to match that function... but now it isn't anymore. Simple, no big deal.
If it can please you, during the movie they clearly renamed it "Mechagodzilla City".
"Mechagodzilla" because the city basically originated from its almost destroyed Mecha body.
"City" is obvious I guess.
I dislike that its name and function don't match. That's all.
It Broke New Ground!
🎵 We built this city, we built this city on nanooo-metaaaaaal! 🎵
Mechagodzilla City approves
Well ummm. He’s kinda of dead because of how useless he was. He just kinda sat there for 20,000 years until the Bilusaludo decided to do something with him. I mean why would you want a giant mechanical robot to fight when we can just have a bunch of small mechs and turrets.
Have you seen those Atlantic Rim movies. None-sense.
AsK YoURseLF iS MechaGoDZilla CiTY EvEN Real?!
Have you seen those Atlantic Rim movies.
Transhumanism, ubiquity in the city would be an higher form of being than the mere limited physical body even if it wouldn't be the best way to fight that Godzilla.
Anyway Mechagodzilla's AI was heavily damaged in Godzilla's first attack in the past... so it was kinda dead or in a kind of catatonic state most of the time.
It’s a city. How is a city a higher form of being? Tell me is humanities next childhood going to be stop signs? Are we going to ascend into traffic cones. It’s a bad movie that rewrote an iconic character that nobody in the fan base asked to be rewritten. But say it with me now.
IT bRoKe NeW GrouNd TherefoRE iTs good!
It’s a bad movie that rewrote an iconic character
No, it's a bad movie that gave an iconic character's name to a dumb plot device.
S2G if they'd just called it MOGURA we wouldn't have had an issue.
Ubiquity is something usually associated with gods, usually meant to be an higher form of being. By obtein ubiquity they ascended to an higher state and that's what's really important.
That's the philosophy's implications anyway, not my thoughts.
Mechagodzilla City and its creators failed due to their excessive faith in that idea... we can say they made an intentionally "stupid" character as criticism to that idea. People may like it or not, sure I'm not here to talk about that.
Mechagodzilla was just the best character to re-write to send that message.
Hmmmmm. Yes philosophy is the most important thing to do when watching a movie. Especially when it’s about as well executed as All Monsters Attack. Look you can have the most interesting story ever but if the execution is bad and the characters are bland. Nobody will care except the very devote who can see what the movie is going for.
Godzilla 1954 anyone who doesn’t even know much about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki can still see what the movie was going for. The Godzilla Anime is so poorly executed that you need a magnifying glass just to find anything good. Which is why I mock it.
Also it has one of the biggest McGuffins I think I’ve ever seen in a movie. Nano-machines Son!
